2hp @ 700 rpm Serial #51684 This motor is from the first year Evinrude offered "automatic reverse". This feature allows the lower unit to rotate 180 degrees by releasing a catch from the tiller handle and thus pushing the boat backwards. Moving the catch back to the original position, allows the lower unit to rotate another 180 degrees returning to forward. I purchased this engine from a collector in NJ in 1995.
