Years:Ca. 1979; 40 or 50hp. Long shaft lower gear housing assembly. This was checked out in my dealership many years ago and then never used since. It is new enough to have stainless steel shafting. It is the 2 to 1 gear ratio that is correct for 35, 40, and 50 hp models. It will fit from about 1972 to at least 1989. There is a small chip out of the rear edge of the skeg. |

Years:1955; Mark 55E 40hp Ser. #859962 short shaft powerhead and midsection. I found the bare powerhead, lower cowl assembly, and matching serial number mid section all separate. The powerhead is without carbs, ignition, flywheel, or stator, but seems sound and still has the factory seal. The lower cowl has a wiring harness and original style positive ground rectifier. The midsection has stuck steering, no tilt pin, and a cracked starboard lower rubber mount cover. I decided to set the 3 components back together so the matching serial numbers would be together. |

Years:1955-1959; 1955-1959 Mercury 35 to 45hp Short Shaft lower gear housing assembly with 3/8inch mounting studs. This is a good working unit that is filled with grease. There is a good bit missing from the bottom of the skeg and a very small chip out of one cavitation plate. The impeller does not have any broken blades, but it has a good bit of "set", so you might want to replace it. |

|
Years:1965-69; 65 to 110hp (except 69 80hp) type long shaft gear housing assembly. A clean looking unit that feels good and shifts properly. The splines at the top of the drive shaft have considerable wear. This would be a candidate for a person who needs a good housing to make a good unit from two and have lots of spare items. |

|
Years:Ca. 1962; 70 to 100hp long shaft gear housing assembly. This housing is in poor condition. It has a lot missing from the port cavitation plate, some missing from the skeg, damage to the area just ahead of the prop and a chip out of the top edge. Mechanically, it seems fine. It turns and shifts properly. No waterpump parts are there except for the base. The housing could be repaired, but it would need considerable welding to look as new. Or, it could be a source of parts. This will fit 65 to 100hp models from 1961 (gear shift) to 1964. |

|
Years:1963-64; 65 to 100hp short shaft gear housing assembly. This will work on motors this size back to 1961 shift models. There is a piece off the bottom of the skeg, but the housing seems fine otherwise. It turns and shifts fine. It needs the entire waterpump including the base. These large short shaft units are scarce. |

Years:1963-64; 35hp long shaft gear housing assembly for parts. This is locked up. This unit is rather scarce. The housing has some off the bottom of the skeg and some metal broken out at the front hollow cavity. These are repairable issues. Internals may or may not be salvageable. The pump housing is broken. |

Years:1972-mid 75; 65hp short shaft gear housing assembly with stainless steel shafting. It has the common splined lower shift shaft. This unit was professionally resealed and serviced and pressure tested in 1995 and not used since. This scarce short shaft unit with its 1.64-1 gear ratio could possibly benefit a 50hp engine of this time period on a very fast racing type application. |

Years:1963-64; 50hp long shaft gear housing assembly. This unit turns and shifts fine. It has a 3 blade 9 pitch aluminum prop that is stuck on the shaft. All waterpump parts are gone or need replacement. There is a piece out of the forward edge of the starboard cavitation plate. The end of the threads on the propshaft have been expanded from someone trying to get the prop off. This will also fit 62 50hp models. |

|
Years:1970-mid 1972; 40-50hp long shaft gear housing assembly. Correct 2:1 gear ratio. Has a piece off the bottom of the skeg. Feels and shifts good. Marked that it has new gear oil. This has the narrower front stud spacing used up to mid 1972. Probably could be used on late 60s 35-50hp models to update to the more common 13 spline props. |

Years:1972-mid 75; 65hp long shaft gear housing assembly. Seems in good condition except for poor splines at the top of the drive shaft. I will include a piece of a drive shaft with good splines, if one wants to have a machine shop replace that section. |

Years:1956-58; Mark 30 30hp lower gear housing assembly. Seems like a nice, clean unit. There is some material broken off the bottom of the skeg and the rear surface ahead of the prop has been rubbed into by a prop? but this does not seem to be a problem. |

Years:1959-60; Mark 75A, 78A, & Merc 600 60-70hp long shaft gear housing assembly. This unit has the 7/16 mounting studs used in late 1959 and on the the 1960 Merc 600. It seems in good mechanical condition. It is missing the waterpump cover nuts and has some bulging and a putty repair on the side where there is a hollow cavity that can fill with water and freeze. This is a common happening and is easily fixed with epoxy putty or welding. |

Years:1970-72 Mercury Merc 1150 or 1350 115 or 135hp long shaft lower gear
Years:1970-72; Merc 1150 or 1350 115 or 135hp long shaft lower gear
housing assembly. This is the scarce correct 1.78 to 1 gear ratio unit used on
these motors. This might also be a good choice ratio for fast boats with other
inline 6 engines from later years. It seems to turn smoothly and shift
properly.
