This motor was made by the
Lockwood-Ash company for Sears Roebuck & Company.
They sold these new, for only $38.50. They were a
basic but well made engine. The tiller turns only the
rudder via gearing that reverses the tiller movement
from normal. I purchased this motor from a New Jersey
collector in 1980. I first ran it in 1982 and
occasionally ever since. I did a complete, major
restoration of this engine in 2009-10. I then ran the
restored motor at three 2010 meets and it was given
awards at all three.
